Blake Construction &
Remodeling, llc

Nicholas Blake, a licensed Michigan Residential Builder, has been building and renovating homes since the mid-1980's.  As a builder of dozens of custom-built homes over the years, he understands the entire construction process and appreciates the skillsets necessary to achieve professional workmanship in the trades.  His work includes both residential homes and commercial businesses, ranging in sizes from 576 sq ft to over 400,000  sq ft.
With over 30 years of experience, Mr. Blake's skills are supplemented by his engineering knowlege. He went to the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor for aerospace engineering, which significantly aids in his mechanical understanding of structures and is a motivating factor for his precision in workmanship. Check out the Gallery section of this website to view the quality of his work firsthand.
All projects are quoted on company forms, broken down by materials and labor, allowing the client full disclosure in how the estimate is derived and calculated. Quotes are honored for thirty days, regardless of circumstance.
BC&R converts accepted quotes into contracts to formalize all work orders, which aids the client in understanding their financial obligations, while clearly defining the company's deliverables.
Clients receive a timetable of tasks in Microsoft Project or Excel, which gives the client an overview of the expected  scheduling program so that they can monitor the job progress and manage their time accordingly.
With approval, jobsite photos are taken before, during, and after construction to memorialize a record of work performed for client insurance and satisfaction purposes. The client retains copies of the photos on a DVD.
Job scheduling takes place after the formal quote is accepted by the client.  A mutually beneficial start date and time is set for project commencement, with flexibility for potential change orders.
All work is performed by licensed professionals, or their crewmen. Any subcontracting work requiring licensure, like electrical, plumbing, and mechanical (HVAC), is also performed by licensed individuals.
Change orders occur frequently from the discovery of latent problems after the initiation of a project, or from new ideas arising during the construction phase to which the client desires to impliment.
The final stage in any project is the punch list. BC&R stands by all legally obligated, final punch list items compiled by the client to ensure client satisfaction in company  workmanship.
